The Pro Tools software installed perfectly, but when I go to start up Pro Tools LE 7, I get this message "Unable to locate Digidesign hardware. The keyboard is plugged up with the USB cable and turned on. I installed pro tools LE 8, but when i try to open it, come the mensage: "Unable to locate digidesign hardware…". I will choose the driver to install" & click "Next" It will now show you a list of drivers - Choose the appropriate driver for your device & click "Next" (Examples Source
The iLok is fine, and the device was showing under device manager (devices and printers) but the driver wasn't working for Pro Tools, I guess. This is where so many recording enthusiasts that don't know the in and outs of USB versus Firewire connections. nothing helps please help. USB although technically faster than Firewire, it is severely more inconsistent in data transfer than the Firewire connection. I restarted with the interface on, I've uninstalled and reinstalled, I've got an indicator light lit up on the back of the interface among other suggestions. volume knob should be on a level where you can hear.

unable to locate M-Audio hardware.Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on. Pro Tools Express Unable To Locate Hardware I was running the latest Beta Driver. Pro Tools won't even open. I'm not sure if the situation is similar, but I'd definitely get ahold of Avid and see what they have to say.
