We have a terminalserverfarm with 2 Servers and one ugly HP-Driver was not willing to be deleted. There are some printer flags you can set via the registry in PS 4.5 which may apply. AJ: The DC is on two separate subnets. I'm able to add every printer from my Domain Admin account, but when it comes to regular users, it's not so easy. I this solved the problem for me Thanks!
I have not had time to check Group Policy yet but will give it a shot. I absolutely hate doing it that way, but some of the HP printer drivers we use (specifically the 42xx and 43xx line) simply won't install without it. If I attempted to delete it I'd get the dialog box above telling me that Access is denied, unable to remove device. http://iterrors.com/tag/cant-delete-printer-driver-access-denied-or-driver-not-found/ We've had this issue as well (access denied) with Domain Users and Domain Admins as well, we are running v2.7 and vsphere 5.5, clients are windows 7 x86...out of about 12 Printers ARE devices… shouldn't that section just be called "Devices"? Driver package is in use.

The other few that had it happen i was able to delete all printers installed, restart print spooler, delete the drivers via Print Management and then readd w/out an issue. It works for your non HP printers and two specific HP printers - HP Officejet 7000 E809a and HP Designjet plotter. Network printers are added from a list of printers installed on the print server. Thanks! I'm sure they're own technical support has seen these issues before.
Windows cannot connect to the printer. Are you adding the printers from a Print Server or creating a local port? I must have visited 20 websites today.
