So if I do get it running and don't have the install CD I will to use that. However we are affiliated not all but with some software companies and some posts may contain affiliate links. right click my computer, click manage, on the left click services and applications, click services. Trying to ADD a printer I get error I can't reinstall the OS as the system controls a medical machine and the installed application is not easily recovered. Spoolsv.exe Download Xp Sp3 Go to: c:\windows\system32\spool\printers Delete all files inside this folder. Start printing job and see if printer spooler crashes.
Further research shows me that the Print Spooler is stopped in the Computer Management/Service console.
